Introduction

District Police Range Lalitpur is located in  Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 04 Jawalakhel. Lalitpur is considered the oldest city among the three cities of Kathmandu Valley. Lalitpur district surrounded it’s border with  Kavrepalanchok to the east, Kathmandu to the west and north, Bhaktapur to the north and east, and Makawanpur to the south. This district is located at an altitude of 457 to 2831 meters above sea level. The total area of this district is 396.92 sq km.‎ and This district has structures of religious and archaeological importance, as well as museums of ancient art and culture. The district is home to the famous Krishna Temple, Bajravarahi Temple, Mahalakshmi Temple, Banglamukhi Temple, Santeshwar Mahadev Temple, Ashoka Stupa, Mahaboddha, Patan Durbar Square, Machhindranath, various pavilions, pillars, as well as the Central Zoo of Jawalakhel and the Botanical Garden Godavari, which have created a unique historical identity for this district.

The duties and responsibilities include:

•     Crime prevention and investigation. 
•     Search and Rescue in natural disaster. 
•    Monitor and direction to the direct under command  police units .  
•    Supervise the activities of police personnel and initiate actions over the police staff who act against the rules and regulations.
•    Encourage best performing police personnel with rewards.
•    Co-ordinate with other government offices and private agencies .
•    Provide security during VVIP/VIP movements.
•    Maintain record of crime and criminal activities in the area of responsibility. 
•    Maintain record of foreigners staying in the area of responsibility.
